Vehicle Description

The Bentley's financial instability, exacerbated by the Great Depression, led to its acquisition by Rolls-Royce in 1931. Consequently, Derby Bentleys, like this particular model, were manufactured at the Rolls-Royce factory rather than Bentley's original Cricklewood facility.
The design of chassis number B35BL, a three-position Drophead Coupe, was personally chosen by its initial owner, the Earl of Feversham. Thrupp & Maberly, the coachbuilder, produced ten similar bodies, each costing $10,000—a sum more than ten times the price of a Cadillac at the time.
The current owner purchased this vehicle in 1988 and promptly embarked on a Rolls-Royce Owners Club tour from Florida to Canada. Another RROC tour saw this Derby traverse the Mojave Desert to Las Vegas, with visits to Death Valley, the Tioga Pass, and Yosemite Park. A comprehensive restoration was completed in 1989, after which the car garnered numerous accolades at shows and Concours events, including a 2nd in Class at the Pebble Beach Concours d'Elegance in both 1998 and 2009.
This Bentley 3.5 Litre remains in excellent cosmetic and mechanical condition, a testament to the meticulous care it has received, and is now ready for a new owner to enjoy.
